I'm Ms. April, a licensed cosmetologist, textured hair specialist, and natural hair educator based in Dothan, Alabama. With over 30 years of hands-on experience, I've made it my life's work to help Black women understand and embrace their natural crowns with confidence, care, and clarity.
Studio HME isn't just a salon suite. It's a sanctuary. A quiet shift. A space created with intention for Black women to reconnect with their hair, their peace, and themselves, one coil at a time.
What I Do
One-on-One Natural Hair Services: Personalized styling that centers scalp health, strand strength, and style longevity without weaves or wigs.
Home Hair Care Education: I teach women how to care for their hair between appointments with ease, using digital tools and in-person coaching.
Youth Empowerment (Coming Soon): Programming to inspire and educate young girls on the beauty and care of their natural hair.
Why I Do It
Because our hair isn't difficult, it's just been misunderstood.
