Over a decade ago I entered the hair industry world eager and full of big dreams.
I began my hair journey at Paul Mitchell in Columbus, Ohio and graduated in 2012.
I then pursued my dream to live in the sunshine state of florida with the beach not far from my back door.
Although I loved my time near the water and getting the chance to experience new cultures I found my heart calling me back home to northwest ohio.
Confession as much as I LOVE the ocean I'm just more of a freshwater girl.
I spent a few wonderful years working as hair stylist in Edon Ohio and here at The Upper Cut in Bryan.

Hi, I am Deb Lehmann, and I joined The Upper Cut Salon right out of cosmetology school in 1997.
I am happy to say that I am still here after 20+years because of the diverse group of girls we have.
The work environment we create lets us have fun, all while providing the best service to our clientel.
The way we mentor and learn from each other helps us to sharpen our minds and keep our skills up to date.
They truly are my work family.
I had many jobs before finding my passion as a stylist.
Not only do I get to be creative, learn new techniques, and challenge myself; I get to make people look and feel great.

I have wanted to work in the salon literally my whole life, I remember very early on practicing styling & braiding on babies & barbies.
I also was the girl in grade school doing other people's hair any chance I was given!
My mom went to cosmetology school, and she was always doing people's hair at home & experimenting on me with all sorts of crazy ideas I would show her.
I literally think all things beauty run thru my veins!
The road I took to finally be a licensed cosmetologist was a LONG ONE, but was the best decision I have ever made & finally after over 15 years of trying & lots of road blocks I am proud to be a licensed nail tech & cosmetologist.

For as long as I can remember my favorite thing to do when friends came over was paint nails.
I'd always have some sort of spa day planned if I knew they were coming over.
I was always a Tom boy and never one to have the best hair or the best outfit but never failed to have my nails done!
It was something I was so proud of.
I also watched my Grandma work as a salon professional at The Upper Cut my entire life and always admired her.
Like I said, I was never much into my own hair but would sit fascinated watching her work.

The best part of my job is my clients.
There is nothing I enjoy more about my job than getting to visit with my clients and learn more about them and their lives.
Doing hair is my passion, and because of my great clients, a work day never feels like WORK.
But instead, it feels exciting and fun to help my clients look good and feel good!
I pride myself in being very thorough in consultations and listening and asking many questions to truly understand my clients expectations for the service.
I love taking my time and being overall tedious in coloring services to help my client achieve their hair goals!
